Let your light shine before others

Something we all have in common and understand how it works is the light switch.   We know that when we come into a dark room and flick the switch to on the room lights up and all the darkness is gone what was hidden by the darkness is exposed in the bright light.

We know that light does not change the darkness into light it only exposes darkness with the light.

There are three things that can keep the light switch from doing its job.   The switch gets some dirt between the contact and the power source, there is a short in the switch due to over load or some other factor that allows the wires to touch each other and short out, the switch becomes open and cannot make contact with the power source.

Either way the light switch cannot do its job until its contact to the power source is cleaned, repaired or replaced.

Likewise we Christians are God’s light switches here on earth the world is a very dark wicked place and evil people do evil sinful things hidden by and covered by the darkness.

God’s purpose for us is to light up the world around us to expose the darkness with light of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.   Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”   Matthew 5:14

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. “  Matthew 5:16

If we are truly connected to the power source, (God’s Holy Spirit) when we come into a dark room or place the gospel light shining through us will light up the darkness around us and sinful things will be exposed by the light that is in us.   Now when this happens all that is dark and sinful in the room or place where we are will do one of two things, they will leave the room or the demons of darkness that are always present in the darkness will attack us and try to short circuit our connection to the power source in attempt to shut off the light switch.

We Christians if we are not careful can fall into the trap of allowing ourselves to become so overloaded with things that are not really important we can become so consumed with doing the things that pleasure our flesh, that we become so stressed out that we will at some point short circuit ourselves from our power source and our light will go out.

We can let a little of the world’s filthy dirt get stuck between us and God so that we cannot make contact with the Holy Spirit who is our power source.   And our light will no longer shine in the darkness we will become as the darkness if we allow this to happen.   “See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. “  Luke 11:35

If we fail to always watch and pray and stay close to Jesus who is the only contact between us and God.   The Holy Spirit Jesus sent down from heaven to live in all Christian believers to comfort us in the darkness of life and guide us from the darkness of sin into the marvelous light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.   If we do not always watch and pray then we will have allowed an open circuit between us and God.   We will backslide back into the darkness of sin that Jesus saved us out of and delivered us from.

Backslidden Christians have lost their connection to their power source and they are consumed with the darkness of sin their lights have gone out.

As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.   Proverbs 26:11   Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.   Jeremiah 3:22

How about you today is your light shining?   Are you performing the purpose that God meant for you to do?   Are you the light in the darkness around you?

If others cannot see the gospel light of the Lord Jesus Christ shining in you and radiating from you then you have allowed something to get between you and God that has stopped your switch from doing its job.

If this is your condition today you do have a choice to return to God, repent of sin that is blocking you from contact with God you can choose to allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse your heart from the desire to sin and the word of God to wash away all the sin that is separating you from God.   You can receive the full forgiveness for your sins through the love, mercy and grace of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.   And your light can shine brightly again to the glory and honor of our Father in heaven.

Know this God’s light will shine in the world always exposing the darkness of sin and if some foolish Christians will not let Him shine through them He will remove them from the task and allow them to perish in their sins.   And will raise up those who will be obedient to His purpose and will.

Here is the Lord’s one and only purpose for His Christian church on earth:

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;   1 Peter 2:9

I am convinced that the end of this present world is upon us

I am convinced that the end of this present world is upon us, the signs of the end that Jesus told us about we are reading about and seeing videos while they happen is undoubtable proof, that the world we once knew and have watched it change into the monster that it is today is heading rapidly towards the end of its existence.   The world in Noah’s time reached the end time because of the wickedness and violence that filled the hearts and minds of the people.   God in His wrath and anger at what the world had become and the continual evil that emitted from the hearts of His human race declared an end and it came just as He said it would.

Do we dare think in this generation that God has changed, do we dare believe that we can live, think and do probably more wickedness and violence in America and the world than was done in Noah’s generation and escape the anger, wrath and justice of Almighty God for our unrighteous ways.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.   Does he speak and then not act?    Does he promise and not fulfill?   Numbers 23:19

Some of the things that fill news headlines, wars and talk of wars, violence, murder, love for self more than God, minds thinking evil continually hearts and bodies acting to carry out that evil.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.   Matthew 24:6

Families at war with each other, “They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."   Luke 12:53

Killer plagues and diseases spreading around the world at an alarming rate, there are those who are so evil that they regard human life as nothing so they take a death oath to kill themselves in order to kill others, because of the sinful wicked and violent there is no peace anywhere in the world.

Is an end coming to this world wide madness?   I think if one looks honestly and closely at the signs of the times the conclusion is yes!

Well I stated that there is no peace in the wicked world and it is so.   But individual children of God can and do have peace in the midst of all of this because we know the prince of peace and final outcome.   It is not man’s new world order that will bring peace and fix the human nature of human desire to sin and live unrighteous.   But it is God’s new world order coming down from heaven a new world of righteousness without sin, while He destroys this world of wickedness and violence, God has declared His kingdom will be established in righteousness and holiness forever.

So if it is peace you want as you watch the world go the way that its evil has prepared it to go, there is only one way you can get it and have it.

Come to Jesus the prince of peace the only one who has true peace and is willing to give it to all who will believe in Him and receive Him.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.   John 14:27 

These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.   John 16:33

You will either get your peace through Jesus Christ or you will have no peace at all,you will be saved from the destruction of this present evil wicked world by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart for the remission of your sins, or you will die in your sins having no peace with this wicked sinful world that is under the wrath and judgment of angry God.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.   Genesis 6:5-7

Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence.   Genesis 6:11

So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.   Genesis 6:13

As for me and my family we choose to follow Jesus and rest in His peace while we wait for the coming kingdom of God
