I remember a warm summer day in the early 1960’s it was Saturday evening and I had a sudden burden on my heart to visit a young mother with three little daughters who was having a very troubled time in her life. Recently divorced and struggling to care for her daughters. I said to my wife Mary I think that we should visit and ask her to come to church with us tonight. We were attending a little mission church called The Peoples Mission where I was an associate preacher and Sunday School Superintendent. We held Saturday night worship services.

When we arrived we found that she was in a very depressed state of mind and was glad that we had thought about her. We talked with her maybe an hour or so during the course of our conversation we asked her if she would like to come with us to church. She replied that she didn’t think she could go. And as we were preparing to leave she changed her mind and decided to come with us.

That night under the conviction of the Holy Spirit she went to the alter repenting of sin weeping and giving her heart to Jesus. She went home unlike when she came she went home a new creation in Christ Jesus.

She told my wife and I afterwards that the only reason that she changed her mind and decided to come with us that night she was out of cigarettes and we were her transportation for that purpose.

Needless to say after her encounter with Jesus that night her desire for smoking cigarettes and her desire to sin did not return home with her.

She went on to serve the Lord for the next more than 50 years of her life. She had joy of telling others about Jesus and the change He made in her life she loved to sing and minister at the local jail and the churches in her community.

Her life on earth was a shining example of what one looks like after meeting Jesus falling totally in love with Him and following his will and purpose in everything that her heart desired to do for the kingdom of God. Marclee Johnson is now in heaven enjoying the treasures she stored up there while living on earth.

This video clip shows her joy in the Lord.

Our greatest enemy

Our greatest enemy in this world is called Satan he knows God because he was created by God he knows the word of God because he has studied it for many generations he knows that human nature is that part of us that wants to sin against God and one another because he was in the garden of Eden when sin got started.

Satan having that same sin nature in him wants to be greater than God and so he is at war with God he wants to have dominion over Gods creation. He believes that if he can succeed in controlling the human race he will have the power in the end to defeat God.

But that will never happen because the creator of all life is the greater power. Almighty God will always have controlling power over His creation.

There are two spiritual forces at work in this world. Working to gain control of the human heart There is good (Gods Holy Spirit) and there is evil (Satan’s demonic spirit).

Good will always overcome evil and in the end good will prevail over all of Satan’s evil plans for us humans on earth.

Romans 12:21
New International Version (NIV)
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Jesus said Satan is the father of lies and a murderer.

John 8:44
New International Version (NIV)
44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Satans purpose on earth is to kill steal and destroy us if he can. Jesus purpose is save life and give back what the thief steals from us and build for us a better and everlasting home without end.

John 10:10
New International Version (NIV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

So you see then there is two who would lead us through life in this world one is the god of this world (devil) the other is Almighty God of heaven earth and the universe (Jesus).
One will lead us to shame and destruction killing us with the second death and everlasting hell. The other will lead us to glorious full and eternal life in the kingdom of God.

John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Everyone has a choice of who they want to follow and where they want to go in this world and in the world to come.

I and my family made our choice to follow Jesus some 52 years ago and we haven’t been disappointed with where He leads nor have we regretted our decision to follow Him not even for one minute of our lives.

Life has two ways to go and the choice is ours and yours.

Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Thank God in this world we have a choice to live for Jesus and in the world that is to come by His choice we can live with Him.

Thank God for good memories

I decided to look through some of my old DVD’s today and came across this one sent to me by my cousin Marclee Johnson in 2006.

I put it in the player and my memories took me back few years ago when I was a little boy about five or six year’s old running barefoot through the hills of Kentucky.

I lived with my Grandpa and grandma Proffit during that time and my cousin Marclee who was a teenager lived there also. Marclee and my aunt Imogene kind of looked after me as if I was their own son wherever they were I was usually with them.

As the years went by we kept that close relationship between us I think that I thought her more of my mother than my cousin.

Even after I became a man and married my wife and began raising our own family we stayed close and spent much of our time with her and her family, we went to church together we visited often sitting up late after coming in from a revival meeting or a wonderful church service talking about how good God was to us all trying to get the most out of our time together.

After my wife and I moved our family from Indiana to Texas in the late seventies we still stayed in close touch with each other by letter telephone and yearly visits to her house. Viewing this video clip caused me to break down in tears realizing just how much I really do miss her but then my heart is lifted up in joy as I vision her with Jesus singing praises to God with the Angels having that same joy and energy and so much more and knowing her joy will never end. It makes me homesick for the time when I can join her and all of my other family members that are there with her.

Thank God for good memories of departed loved ones without memories it would be really hard to keep our joy while we wait to join them in heaven

For me to live is Jesus Christ

Some of you who don’t know me very well may wonder why I post so much about my love for my Lord and Saviour Jesus. Why am I always talking about my love for my wife and family and my love for my country and its citizens.

Those of you who do know me in a personal way know that the answer is simple, it’s the only topic I have to write about it is the heart of me. If I could not write or talk of these things I would have no conversation. What I write and post is my whole life it’s who I am.

This is the substance of my thoughts day and night this is the fullness of my heart.

For me to live is Jesus Christ, wife, family and country in that order without them I would have no life and nothing to say.

When I post it is simply lifting up my heart and sharing with you the love that makes my life worthwhile.

I don’t know how many of you read my posts apparently very few as I don’t receive many likes or unlike or comments either way.

Many of you have stopped communicating with me altogether perhaps you don’t understand or care that I am sharing with you who I am and whose I am why I am while I am.

If my posts have offended any one or you don’t care to read them or comment that’s alright. I offer no apology.

But I just want you to know that when I sit down and place my fingers on my keyboard and begin to type and the words begin to flow out.  The author is not me but the Spirit of God who lives in me gives me what to say at the time it needs to be said. And when it is posted it goes where it needs to go and accomplishes what it was sent to do.

You see I have been a preacher of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ for most of my life.

I was called by Him at the young age of 21 years old to proclaim His good news and yes His warnings as well. I have given it in many churches I have given it in the many work places I have worked I have given it to family I have given it to friends I have given it to enemies and I have given it to the many people I have worked with throughout the years and I will give it wherever I can for as long as I can until I am removed from this world.

The words that I preach and the words that I write have never had a charge placed on them I have never taken payment for what I speak and write what God gives me freely I share freely.

I just want to express that a like or a dislike a comment for or against wouldn’t hurt my feelings and from a Christian Brother or sister saying amen once in a while wouldn’t hurt anything.

There I have opened my heart to you, you now know who I am I want to be your friend.

And introduce you to my friend Jesus Christ the king of kings and the Lord of Lords.

Wisdom is far better than its opposite foolishness

God’s power is the only power that I recognize and respect as unlimited and unstoppable. With God all things are possible and nothing is impossible to him.

Hosea 4:6

King James Version (KJV)

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
- John Adams

God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.
- Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson Memorial

Education is useless without the Bible. The Bible was America’s basic text book in all fields. God’s Word, contained in the Bible, has furnished all necessary rules to direct our conduct.
- Noah Webster

So then don’t you think it’s time we get back to the Bible principals that our nation was established on and study the true history of our founding fathers and gain a knowledge of our past that explains in great detail where we came from why we are called Americans and what Gods purpose for our nation is among the nations of the world.?

If we will read and study our constitution and bill of rights written and set in place by great men of wisdom whose faith in Almighty God and their moral character formed in them by reading and observing the Holy Scriptures and laws of God. That moved them to build together the greatest and freest country in the world.

Men and women who were willing to put their lives on the line to establish this free nation and were willing to oppose and fight all enemies and tyrants of freedom to defend and keep it free.

If we can do this we will remain a free nation in control of our government instead of a nation of government slaves controlled by an out of control government.

Government power can be limited and is stoppable and it is within the ability of the American people to impose its limits and bring its unlawful and controlling infringements to a screeching halt if we will only repent of our nations sins and seek again the grace and blessings of Almighty God joining together in unity and taking back control of our country and its government.

2 Chronicles 7:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I for one will never lay down my God given freedom given to me by the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His life for me that I might through Him live a free and abundant life in a free and blest country for any law imposed by any ungodly and unjust government.

I am determined to preach this message until I see it taking root in American hearts and the fruits of action springing up to free our country from the madness that has hypnotized and overtaken our people and our government.

I may have to leave this world before seeing the hope and prayer of my heart fulfilled in seeing my country restored to its former greatness. But at some point it has to happen or America will perish among the rest of the nations that have forgotten God to their own destruction.

Psalm 9:17

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Wisdom is far better than its opposite foolishness because the wise are rewarded in their wisdom and the fool is destroyed in their foolishness.
The beginning of wisdom is the start of seeking God but foolishness is the act of turning from God.

Do only dumb people believe in God?

Do only dumb people believe in God?

Some have said that intelligent people don’t believe in God.  Many in our nation are trying to destroy belief in God. Our schools, colleges and institutions of higher learning are no longer promoting belief in God. Our federal government along with many state and local governments are doing their best to push belief in God out of all human activities and thoughts.

Christians are laughed at mocked and ridiculed some imprisoned and some killed in parts of the world. Yes even here in America these things are beginning to happen.

Many consider Christians who believe in God and live by their faith in the lord Jesus Christ to be dumb unintelligent crazy enemies of government and we ought to be on their watch lists.

The big question is who is right about God?

The Bible says,

Psalm 14:1

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV)

 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 Corinthians 1:18-21 (KJV)

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Of course I believe in God although I cannot see Him, His glorious works confirm that He exists.

It is the wise who can believe in the things they cannot see it is the intelligent crazies who can’t see the proof.

I am living today though I cannot see the air I breath I believe that I will live tomorrow though I have not yet seen tomorrow.

Because I believe in God who is, was and will always be the God who knows the past, who sees the future and who is my future.

Hope and Change

Hope and Change

Which do you want government aid and the poverty it brings or freedom to live life more abundantly?

Put your hope in government and they will change your independence by taxing away your cash and making you dependent on government aid and food stamps.

The government’s promise is to take from you what you have worked so hard to get so they can fill their coffers by their greed waste it on programs you don’t need and give the rest in handouts to which they choose.

Under this governments management you run the risk of losing your jobs and becoming homeless.

And if you are old and sickly and of little value to the community their health care plans may let you die.

Put your hope in Jesus and He will forgive your sins and give you the freedom to live under the blessings and abundance of God’s provisions.

Jesus does not take from you and waste what you have on programs of no value neither does He take what is yours and give to others but gives of His riches to you in abundance so that you can share of your abundance with others.

The promise of Jesus is to build you a mansion and not leave you homeless. The promise of Jesus is to heal all your sicknesses and not let you die.

I have set before you this day Hope and Change you choose which is the best hope for your change!

John 10:10
New International Version (NIV)
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Philippians 4:19
New International Version (NIV)
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

John 14:2
King James Version (KJV)
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Psalm 103:3
New International Version (NIV)
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

John 11:26

King James Version (KJV)
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
