You can’t start a fire with wet wood

You can’t start a fire with wet wood.

 If your wood is wet it won’t burn.

Wet wood will produce a lot of smoke but it won’t heat the house.

Wet wood will put out your fire.

When I was a child I learned this valuable lesson we heated our house with wood we cooked our meals with wood it was a very important part of our lives in those days. Our family spent much of our summer days preparing for survival during the winter months. Many of those days I spent at one end of a crosscut saw with my step father at the other cutting wood to be used for heating and cooking.

Some of the wood we cut was still green and wet it had to be stacked in cords to season and dry out before use.

One of my tasks was to keep enough wood stacked beside the stoves each day to meet our needs. One day I mistakenly carried green wood into the house and it got put into the old potbelly stove. Within minutes the house was filled with thick dark smoke as the water in the wood began to put out the fire and kill the heat my green wood served no useful purpose.  I learned a very valuable lesson that day which has been locked into my memory all these years and remembering it has helped me to live my Christian life without letting my fire go out.

 I have seen a lot of Christian churches and individual Christians that were once on fire for God let their fire go out. They once had a strong love for Jesus and the testimony of their lives encouraged others to become Christians. But Satan has entered into them and filled them with so much of the world atmosphere that their fire has been put out and there is nothing left but the smoke. A testimony of smoke without the fire will do nothing to change a heart or the world. A church or a Christian that has no fire serves no useful purpose to the Lord Jesus Christ or the Kingdom of God.

Pastors and churches we had better throw out the green water soaked wood that is killing us and our country. We had better rekindle the fire that allowed God’s blessings to flow into our lives and throughout our country in times past.

In my neighborhood there are at least eight large churches along with four or five smaller. God only knows how many Pastors, preachers, evangelists and bible teachers live in my area.

It is the same in every city large or small throughout the United States of America. You would wonder why a nation having multitudes of Christian churches and thousands of expounders of the Bible could be so deceived by the Devil and so caught up in wickedness and so enslaved with sin that it is destroying itself from within.

I believe that it is because the love of many has grown cold many of the confessing Christians are not the Christians they think they are they don’t manifest the life in Jesus they confess to have.

If they ever had the power of Jesus living in them and if they were living in the power of His Holy Spirit Satan would not have the controlling power over America and its people that he has.

We had better remember our first love Jesus and return to Him while we still can.

The time of Gods mercy and grace is running out for America and its peoples. And God’s wrath up on a wicked and sinful America is all that is left for us to expect. Much of America has lost its love for God and the commandments of God those things that gave it, its moral foundation and its testimony of greatness before the rest of the world. America is no longer a light in the world. Thick dark smoke clouds of wickedness and sin where there was once a hot fiery testimony of God’s love mercy and grace coming from the nation that God established a witness of Jesus in the entire world. In its sins America is no longer a value to the Kingdom of God or the nations of the world in bringing them to the salvation of God in Christ Jesus.

We who are Christians confessed part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ here on earth is supposed to be helping prepare people for the Kingdom of God. We are supposed to be warning of the terrible tribulation that is about to break forth upon this earth and helping to prepare them to face it and overcome even to the end of this present evil world.

How can we do that if we allow the sins and evils around us to get into us and dampen our spirit cool down our love of Jesus and stop us from giving our testimony of his love mercy and grace to a lost and dyeing generation of people?
