Sitting here
pulling from somewhere in my brain old memories of my child hood.
I remember as
a boy of eight or nine years of age I received a pair of genuine Roy Rogers’s
six shooters and holsters with lots of Ammo for Christmas.
Many of my friends
and classmates received the same maybe there was a few that got the Gene Autry
version.
On our first day back to school after Christmas holidays we proudly
wore our shiny new toys to school strapped around our hips all day long to show
off.
We played Cowboys and Indians good guys and bad guys throughout the summer
months. The absolute best Christmas gift a young boy of the late 1940’s could
ever get.
We have come
a long way in America since then children today would be and are expelled from
school for even having a paper gun cutout or pointing a pretzel stick. We have lost the joy of living because of the fear of not being politically correct.
I think we live in a time when many have become insane lunatics in their desire to control.
